P2252 EasyMount Slider
The P2252 EasyMount Slider has an oblong 4.8 x 22 mm aperture and is designed for mounting intestinal tissues with a surface area of no less than 1 cm² and for use with EasyMount P2250 Chambers. Composed of a top clear and bottom white segment. Tissues are mounted by pressing the tissue over short, curved pins lining a matching aperture on the slider.
The aperture has a surrounding recess to minimize edge-effect caused by minimal compression from mounting. The large surface area is useful when performing ion flux or drug permeability studies. The large surface area also maximizes detecting endogenous peptide secretion from the lumen or from the basolateral side.

P2252 EasyMount Slider for Mounting Intestinal Tissue
APETURE SIZE: 4.775x22.02 MM | Area = 1.0 cm2
The P2252 EasyMount Slider has an oblong 4.775 x 22.02 mm aperture and is designed for mounting intestinal tissues with a surface area of no less than 1 cm2 and for use with EasyMount P2250 Chambers.
Our P2252 EasyMount Slider is composed of a top clear and bottom white segment. Tissues are mounted by pressing the tissue over short, curved pins lining a matching aperture on the slider. The slider aperture has a surrounding recess to minimize edge-effect caused by light compression from mounting. The large surface area is useful when performing ion flux or drug permeability studies. The large surface area also maximizes detecting endogenous peptide secretion from the lumen or from the basolateral side.
Advantages of the P2252 Slider:
-
The large surface area works with a variety of tissue specimens - rat intestine is the optimal tissue for this slider
-
Aperture recess area minimizes tissue edge-effect
-
Tissue pins aid in mounting and stretching the specimen
-
Two alignment pins provide fast and accurate closure of the two piece slider
P2250 Slider Mounting Instructions:
To mount tissue on the P2252 EasyMount Slider and insert it into the EasyMount P2250 Ussing Chamber system, follow these steps:
1. Preparation of the Intestional Tissue
- Ensure the tissue sample is prepared to the correct size, typically at least 1 cm² to fully cover the slider’s 4.775 x 22.02 mm aperture.
- Moisten the tissue with an appropriate physiological solution to maintain its viability and flexibility.
2. Mounting the Tissue on the P2252 Slider
- Place the P2252 slider on a stable surface with the aperture area accessible.
- Gently position the tissue over the aperture, ensuring it covers the entire oblong opening.
- Using tweezers or gentle manual pressure, press the tissue over the curved pins located along the aperture’s edges. These pins will secure the tissue in place by pressing it into the matching aperture.
- Verify that the tissue is evenly spread across the aperture without wrinkles or folds to maintain uniform contact with the solution.
3. Ensuring Proper Mounting in the Slider’s Recessed Area
- Confirm that the tissue fits within the recessed edge surrounding the aperture. This recess minimizes edge effects, reducing the potential for tissue distortion or leakage around the mounting area.
4. Inserting the EasyMount Slider into the P2250 Ussing Chamber System
- Align the mounted P2252 slider with the P2250 Ussing Chamber. The chamber should be prepared with any necessary solutions or buffers according to the experiment's requirements.
- Carefully slide or press the P2252 into the chamber slot, ensuring it locks securely into place.
- Once the slider is in position, check that the tissue remains centered over the aperture without slippage or gaps along the edges.
5. Final Adjustments and Checks
- Confirm that the tissue is positioned correctly, with its luminal or basolateral side facing as required by the experiment.
- Adjust the chamber’s clamps or seals if necessary to prevent leakage and maintain an airtight seal.
After mounting, the system is ready for the introduction of test compounds, ion flux measurements, or drug permeability assays. If you need any assistance in these procedures, please contact us.
